Plateau Excavation

Plateau People – Neal Conley, Project Operations

With a strong foundation built on people, quality craftsmanship, and innovation, Plateau Excavation has become a leader in tackling advanced, large-scale and complex site development projects, but it is our people that truly make the difference and have moved the company forward.

Neal Conley, Project Operations
  • How many years have you been at Plateau Excavation? 1.5 years
  • What’s your job title? Project Operations
  • What exactly do you do at the company?  I help oversee field operations and bridge the gap between project managers and superintendents on multiple job sites.
  • So far, what has been your favorite project? QTS Fayetteville because I got to be there from the beginning with the PM side, models, pushing through the complex design changes. I saw it from the start with multiple crews going at one time to successfully put all the utilities in.
  • How would you describe your team or the people you work with? A great team. The field is super experienced and super strong. They definitely carry a lot of weight on their shoulders. Another great thing is the leadership Plateau provides – whenever a need comes up from the field, they are quick to jump on that and give whatever is needed to be successful.
  • If you could be any machine, what would you be? Excavators because of their strength and versatility. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved excavators, and now my son does.
  • What legacy do you hope to leave behind? Helping to show the younger guys that the more complex the project is, the more rewarding they are.

Spread your wings and take on as much as you can.
