How many years have you been at Plateau Excavation?
- I’ve been with Plateau Excavation for 6 years.
What’s your job title?
- I serve as the Health and Safety Manager.
What exactly do you do at our company?
- My primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of our employees on-site. This involves working closely with superintendents and general contractors, inspecting equipment, and conducting daily safety meetings.
So far, what has been your favorite project?
- My favorite project so far has been the Gallatin project.
How would you describe your team or the people you work with?
- The people I work with are hardworking, motivated, loyal, and fun. It feels more like a family than just a team!
What advice would you provide to someone interested in getting into this industry?
- Be prepared for long hours and long weeks, but seeing a project from start to finish is very rewarding.
What is your favorite aspect about your job, Plateau, or the industry?
- My favorite aspect is ensuring everyone is performing their job safely so they can go home to their families.
What drew you to Plateau originally?
- I was drawn to Plateau because of its fast pace and the fact that it’s a large company with a small-company feel.
What is something unique about you (a fun fact) that few people are aware of?
- A fun fact about me is that I have my first grandson on the way. He is due in June.

- I love the beach and riding dirt bikes, and I’m a big fan of Georgia football.
