- How many years have you been at Plateau Excavation? I’ve been with Plateau for 19 years.
- What’s your job title? Superintendent
- What exactly do you do at our company? I am currently in charge of running the duct banks for telecommunications and medium voltage power including final grading as well as managing some of the subcontractors that we have onsite at one of the biggest data center projects.
- So far, what has been your favorite project? NCG Facebook GA would be my favorite because it was the first job site that I was given the opportunity to manage! I faced many challenges due to the fact that it was a high-profile job site. I gained a lot of experience from it.
- How would you describe your team or the people you work with? The Best of the Best! My crew is made up of people who have a lot of experience and take pride in making sure the job gets done with the best quality possible! They all give the best of themselves, and they are very hardworking, loyal people! Thanks to them I am in this position, their hard work makes me shine. I am very grateful for the crew that I have!
- What advice would you provide to someone interested in getting into this industry? Always be positive and believe in yourself. Don’t be afraid to take challenges because this isn’t an easy job, and it requires a lot of dedication. Always know that your mind is very powerful, and you have the power to dominate and manipulate it to get where you want to be!
- What is your favorite aspect about your job, Plateau, or the industry? The drastic change in the job site from how it appears when we first start and how it completely changes when we finish! Also, how quickly this is achieved!
- What drew you to Plateau originally? My father has been working for Plateau for over 20 years. He is the one responsible.
- Anything else to share? I am proud to be a part of the Plateau family. Plateau is always on my mind. I simply couldn’t have reached my position if it wasn’t for my father Jaime Monjaras who has always been present and has pushed me to the max to be a responsible person and a better human being every day. Above all, I wanted to thank the BEST SUPERINTENDENT Plateau has, Mr. Scott Perkins, for giving me the opportunity to work for him for 14 years. He believed in me and helped me to get to the position I currently have. My goal is to one day be like him in the company. I will always be grateful!
