Amazon Distribution Center Fisherville (Project Valley)

Overview

Plateau Excavation developed the site for Amazon to open a fulfillment center in Fishersville, VA. Spanning an expansive 81 acres, this center will feature a million-square-foot non-sortable fulfillment center right off of Route 608.

Project Description / Details

Plateau Excavation is transforming the landscape to accommodate a million-square-foot non-sortable fulfillment center just off Route 608. The project entails many tasks, including significant earthwork with a staggering 900,000 cubic yards of cut-and-fill operations.

In addition to earthmoving, the project involves infrastructure development, with 13,000 linear feet of storm drain installation and 12,000 linear feet of wet utilities. The team navigated through challenges, including the need to blast and crush 375 cubic yards of rock to prepare the site adequately.

Plateau Excavation undertook 1 mile of VDOT (Virginia DOT) road improvements, ensuring connectivity to and from the fulfillment center.
