Plateau Excavation

Plateau People – Edith Troche, Training Administrator

With a strong foundation built on people, quality craftsmanship, and innovation, Plateau Excavation has become a leader in tackling advanced, large-scale and complex site development projects, but it is our people that truly make the difference and have moved the company forward.

Today’s Plateau People Spotlight is Edith Troche, Training Administrator

Since joining Plateau on July 22nd, 2025, I’ve had the opportunity to help establish the company’s new Training Department from the ground up. As the Training Administrator, I oversee the planning, coordination, and recordkeeping for all company training — from simulator sessions to classroom instruction. My role connects simulator, in-field, and classroom training with leadership, ensuring every employee receives consistent, well-documented training that meets safety and performance standards.

One of the most rewarding projects so far has been launching the Caterpillar Simulator Program. It’s Plateau’s first hands-on training initiative that allows field employees to practice on realistic heavy-equipment simulators before heading into the field as well as polishing the skills for those who are already operators. This is a new chapter for the Training Department and my own first major milestone in this role.

What I enjoy most about working at Plateau is the people. Everyone brings strong character, deep experience, and a shared commitment to excellence, which makes collaboration both challenging and fulfilling. Training here directly supports growth, safety, and seeing employees gain confidence and knowledge week after week is what drives me.

If I were a machine, I’d be an excavator.

My long-term goal is to build a lasting foundation for Plateau’s Training Department — one that continues long after me. My advice to anyone entering this industry would be: be patient, be thorough, and never stop learning; every role, from the office to the field, plays a part in building something bigger.
