Today’s Plateau People Spotlight is Project Engineer, Ethan Cornelius

  • How many years have you been at Plateau Excavation? I have been at Plateau Excavation for three months.
  • What’s your job title? Project Engineer
  • How would you describe your role? My role is to help our estimating team with anything that they need.
  • So far, what has been your favorite project? My favorite project so far was getting to go visit our site in Covington and being able to see the amount of rock that is on that site.
  • How would you describe your team or the people you work with? The team and people at plateau are like a family. Everyone is a very hard worker and willing help you or answer any question at any time and we like to have fun.
  • What’s your favorite aspect of your job, Plateau or the industry? My favorite aspect of my job is being able to see a set of plans, design it, price it and then being able to see the project come together in the field.
  • If you could be any machine, what would you be? A D9 bulldozer.
  • What is something unique about you (fun fact) that few people are aware of? I am very knowledgeable in Wildlife Management and baseball history.
  • What legacy do you hope to leave behind? Or advice you would give someone getting into the industry? The advice I would give for someone getting into the industry would be to have a strong work ethic, do not be afraid to ask questions, and enjoy the work and people that you work with.
