Today’s Plateau People Spotlight is Morgan Howell, Operations Administrator
- How many years have you been at Plateau Excavation? May 5, 2025 ( 6 months)
- What’s your job title? Operations Administrator
- How would you describe your role? Plateau Excavation bought two smaller companies: Alpha Boring and Tunneling & CW Site Services. As the operations administrator, I play a key role in keeping daily business activities running smoothly for both companies. I support the operations team by coordinating administrative processes, managing documentation, tracking projects, and ensuring efficient communication between departments. My role combines organization, problem-solving, and attention to detail to help maintain workflow efficiency and operational consistency.
- So far, what has been your favorite project? I don’t work on the projects, I work in the cooperate office and handle the behind-the-scenes work
- How would you describe your team or the people you work with? I work with a strong operations team that’s highly collaborative and solution oriented. Everyone understands the fast-paced nature of construction and the importance of communication between the field and the office. We rely on each other to keep things organized, meet deadlines, and ensure projects move forward smoothly. It’s a dependable team that takes pride in getting the job done right.
- What’s your favorite aspect of your job, Plateau or the industry? My favorite part of working at Plateau is that I’m always learning something new. The construction industry is constantly changing, and I like being part of an environment that challenges me to improve processes and stay organized while supporting the team. It’s rewarding to see how our work directly contributes to a project’s success.
- If you could be any machine, what would you be? I’d be an excavator — always digging in, getting things started, and laying the groundwork for progress. In operations, that’s what I do every day: handle the details behind the scenes so the rest of the project can move forward.
- What is something unique about you (fun fact) that few people are aware of? Fun Fact: I am a National Champion for College Cheerleading
- What legacy do you hope to leave behind? Or advice you would give someone getting into the industry? I hope my legacy is that I made a positive impact on the people I worked with — that I was dependable, supportive, and helped create a better environment. My advice for anyone starting out would be to show up, be teachable, and take pride in even the small tasks. In construction, every detail matters, and the habits you build early on will shape your entire career.
