Plateau Excavation

With a strong foundation built on people, quality craftsmanship, and innovation, Plateau Excavation has become a leader in tackling advanced, large-scale and complex site development projects, but it is our people that truly make the difference and have moved the company forward.
Today’s Plateau People Spotlight is Estimator, Scott Morris
- How many years have you been at Plateau Excavation? Two months
- What’s your job title? Estimator
- How would you describe your role? My primary role consists of plan take-offs, preparing bids, and assisting customers with project budgeting
- So far, what has been your favorite project? I am too new to have a favorite project yet…probably “Pine Street” if I had to pick one.
- How would you describe your team or the people you work with? “Team” is the best word to describe the people I work with. Each person is willing to help another achieve the common goal of success for Plateau. In the short time that I have been at Plateau, I already feel like part of a large family.
- What’s your favorite aspect of your job, Plateau, or the industry? I enjoy a challenge, and every day presents a new challenge to overcome.
- If you could be any machine, what would you be? I would be a 963 track loader…it is a versatile and adaptable piece of equipment. In this business, you must be able to adapt to succeed.
- What is something unique about you (fun fact) that few people are aware of? I am a Christian and currently attend Burnt Hickory Baptist church. My wife and I have taught a newly married couples Sunday school class as well as 2nd grade Sunday School classes at the church we previously attended and are excited about getting involved at Burnt Hickory as well.
- What legacy do you hope to leave behind? Or advice you would give someone getting into the industry? I hope to leave a legacy of treating others with kindness, honesty, and integrity in all that I do…not only at Plateau but in every area of my life.
