Walmart PDC (Project Relay)
Overview
Walmart Distribution Center aims to build a high-tech distribution center for fresh and frozen food in Lyman, S.C., marking the retailer’s biggest grocery DC to date. The distribution center will feature a 720,000-square-foot facility that will house perishables such as produce, eggs, dairy, flowers and frozen goods. This distribution center will create more than 400 jobs with a combination of associates, automation technology, robotics and machine learning to process grocery perishables. The new center is set to open in 2024.

Plateau Excavation is doing over 2.25 million cubic yards of earthmoving on this project as well as blasting and crushing rock, installing storm drainage, and wet utilities.
